Chuck Kobasew can still suck a fart out of my ass. Exactly why I traded him last year. I thought he was trying to kiss my ass for more playing time, but turns out he was trying to do precisely what he has been doing to Action the entire off-season!

Quote: Players who haven't signed a contract by the beginning of the regular season will be considered holdouts. These players will gradually lower their asking price by 5% each week up until December 1st. Sure. I realize this. But shouldn't he be starting off at 4 million instead of close to 9 million? He's 42. Then by December 1st, he may actually be putting on skates. December 1st - 5.5 million approximately. My point was that it is an asinine starting price. And the Dec 1st price is hardly any better. I think it's important that we keep salaries in check. Over time it could lead to problems. Our cap is already a fun 65 million and I love it. I know for every Jaro Spacek there's a Robyn Rheghr (or whatever) to balance things out, but I think there should be some extra consideration given to the salary demands.

I don't, I think it is pretty cut and dry. Either you can afford to keep what you have, or you have to let other GMs take a swing easy enough.
