The agent demands have gotten ridiculous. If guys are going to be demanding such huge amounts, we either need to lower them, or raise the salary cap.

Pretty much every new salary is unrealistically high.

If you ever got good players it would piss you off too Alex hahaha.

Gotta admit though, the salaries are very high compared to the NHL.

FYI the average salaries are pretty much exactly where they were two years ago.

Exactly why I traded him last year. I thought he was trying to kiss my ass for more playing time, but turns out he was trying to do precisely what he has been doing to Action the entire off-season!

Mark Recchi, at age 42, is demanding 8.8 million per year. He is out of a job. Who prices themselves out of a job and into unemployment?

Chris Drury, at age 33, think he's worth almost 7 million per year. He will not play hockey. Perhaps a bottom feeding team will grab him, but wouldn't he be willing to take less and play for a competitive team?

The agent system is flawed and needs to be tweaked.

No player agent can smoke this much crack and keep a job.

Or simply use some common sense and save us all a little time.

But I will take your good advice and search the rules.

Should I CTL + F and type in lunacy?

Sure. I realize this.

But shouldn't he be starting off at 4 million instead of close to 9 million? He's 42.

Then by December 1st, he may actually be putting on skates.

December 1st - 5.5 million approximately.

My point was that it is an asinine starting price. And the Dec 1st price is hardly any better.

I think it's important that we keep salaries in check. Over time it could lead to problems. Our cap is already a fun 65 million and I love it.

I know for every Jaro Spacek there's a Robyn Rheghr (or whatever) to balance things out, but I think there should be some extra consideration given to the salary demands.

I don't, I think it is pretty cut and dry. Either you can afford to keep what you have, or you have to let other GMs take a swing easy enough.

You're missing the point - salary demands and older-aged players not affordability - but thanks for playing.

They are affordable if your younger stars sign contracts in Russia to clear up Cap room for you :D
