A couple of things popped into my head again.

1. Players with NHL-experience can't be assigned to the DCHL.

Thought: What if said player hasn't played in the NHL for 5 years? Could there be a time-limit applied there for useless players who haven't been close to an NHL spot for several years?

Thought II: Waivers for players with NHL-experience moving to the DCHL.

2. Discipline ratings.

Thought: Right now DI is based on PIMs. That can seem logical but should PIMs for fighting be included? I can't help but think that fighting really isn't a lack of discipline in the same way as minor penalties and misconducts are. Fighting is justified and covered by the FG rating. If you look at most of the enforcers in the NHL they don't really take a lot of minor penalties putting their team shorthanded, which would be the definition of lack of discipline.

A few examples from the NHL:

Brandon Prust - 127 penalty minutes - Only 6 minor penalties.
Ian Laperriere - 116 penalty minutes - Only 8 minor penalties.
George Parros - 101 penalty minutes - Only 8 minor penalties.

Should these players really be rated horribly for DI and put their team shorthanded several times per game in the sim? I don't think so.

Solution: A new formula for DI: DI = (PIMS - (Fighting majors x 5)) / TOI

I have no problem with any of these ideas and especially like the DI idea, if its not a huge pain for whoever has to do that sort of thing.

Funny, I was thinking something similar to this for the DCHL. I also like both ideas, the DI makes alot of sense to me since there is a fighting rating and a DI rating. It wouldn't have worked in the olden days with just DI.

i agree about the DCHL...seems a little silly to not be able to send a player down there if hes managed to squeek in 1-2 NHL games in his career, and especially since the ZPHL/DCHL cap is shared.

I personally find the DCHL useless. We already have a farm team, and a prospects pool. Why do we need another roster for Janne to collect useless Euros.

Personally, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if the DCHL dissapeared.

Why make things more complicated?

Why do you have useless garbage that has not played in the NHL in 5 years sitting on your team anyway? They have no business here. Go away!

The biggest problem of DCHL as per me, is that it counts for the Salary Cap. It would be worth it to have a DCHL only if it would help in the cap space.

The DCHL seems kinda pointless to me as well, seems like a lot of players sitting there not doing anything. I dont think they should count against the cap either.

The DCHL is our equivalent of the ECHL in real life. Since we don't sim those games (damn everyone who constantly refuse to create the KHL) those players don't play.

That they count against the cap is natural since they are under contract with the ZPHL club, but assigned to the DCHL farm team.

For some GMs the DCHL is just great, as you have the possibility to own 25 more players with potential. If someone doesnt need this roster space he can release all these guys. So he can use all his farm cap for his ZPHL team.

I am a fan of the DCHL as well. Though as far as the discipline rating goes, Krom couldn't you have just changed it since you do all the ratings and we would be none the wiser?

LOL I guess

But I thought there might be less of a chance of getting accused of cheating if people know what's going on haha. I might also avoid answering questions about how it's done and we all know I don't like talking to any of you unless I'm trying to fleece you in a deal
