Speaking to the press after his New Jersey Devils had lost 5-1 on home ice to the Pittsburgh Penguins, Devils defenseman Brendan Witt said what's been on everybodys mind for a long time; "I'm not a pretty man." He went on to say that while he may not be pretty, he at least knows how to play defense. Something he said couldn't be said for recently re-called Swedish blueliner Niclas Wallin.

Wallin joined the Devils from their ZPHL affiliate in Lowell as an emergency call-up due to the injury suffered by Brian Rafalski against the Rangers. Wallin, an aged veteran from the northern parts of Sweden, was abysmal in the contest and finished the game with a -3 rating.

"I damn near smacked his face in after the Kronwall goal. Hell I may still do it."

Witt was seen yelling passionately at Wallin every time they were on the bench. It appears babysitting Swedes isn't exactly how Witt figured his stint with the New Jersey Devils would end up. "I came here to win the Cup and then they pair me up with this clown? Raffy better get back real soon. We're gonna miss the playoffs if Wallin dresses for more games."

Devils GM Mike Fairhead was unavailable for comment spending a night in jail after attempting to drown his bladder with four bottles of rye in the second intermission.
